What makes Aria Arté different from a traditional art class?
We don’t believe every child should make the same painting in the same way. At Aria Arté, classes are shaped around the individual student — their interests, ability and creative goals. Some students want to develop strong technical foundations, while others thrive with more freedom to experiment. Most enjoy a little of both. Our teachers adapt accordingly, helping children develop real artistic skills without losing their individuality.

Does my child need any previous art experience?
Not at all. We welcome students at different levels, from complete beginners to young artists who already have experience and want to develop their technique further. Lessons are adjusted to meet each student where they are.

What will my child learn?
Depending on their interests and goals, students may explore drawing, sketching, painting, colour, composition, portraiture, mixed media, 3D work and other fine art techniques. We also introduce students to different artists and styles, helping them develop both practical skills and a broader appreciation of art.

What is Artist of the Month?
Each month, we introduce students to a featured fine artist and explore their work, ideas and distinctive style. Students then create something inspired by what they discover — not simply copying the artist, but interpreting those ideas through their own imagination.

 

What languages are classes taught in?
We offer art classes in English, French and Cantonese, depending on the class and teacher. Our English and French classes give students the opportunity to practise another language naturally while creating, while our Cantonese classes provide a familiar environment for children who feel most comfortable learning and expressing themselves in Cantonese.

Is Aria Arté a language class as well as an art class?
Art always comes first. English and French are integrated naturally through conversation, instructions and interaction rather than taught like a traditional language lesson. Children have the opportunity to hear and use the language while concentrating on something they enjoy — making art.

Can I choose whether my child focuses more on technique or creativity?
Absolutely. Some families are looking for structured fine art training, some want their child to have a relaxing and expressive creative outlet, and others want both. Simply let us know your preference when booking and our teachers can shape the class accordingly.

 

Will every student make the same artwork?
Not necessarily. Even when students are exploring the same artist, technique or theme, we encourage them to make their own decisions about colour, composition, subject matter and style. There is rarely only one “right” outcome here. If the clouds need to be green, the clouds can be green.

What should my child bring to class?
We provide the core art materials needed for regular classes unless otherwise stated. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that can survive the occasional encounter with paint — creativity can get a little messy.

Can I tell you about my child’s interests or learning preferences beforehand?
Please do. Whether your child loves portraits, wants to improve their drawing, prefers 3D work, needs more structure or simply wants somewhere to create freely, sharing this with us helps the teacher prepare a class that feels genuinely personal to them.

 

How do I book a class?
You can make an enquiry or request a class through our website. Tell us a little about the student — including their age, preferred language, previous art experience and what they would like to get out of their classes — and we’ll help arrange the most suitable class and teacher.

 

What if I need to reschedule or cancel a class?
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule a class, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours’ notice may not be eligible for a refund or replacement class.
