With a background in psychology and fine arts, Shirley brings a flexible yet analytical approach to the studio. She believes children create most freely when they feel there is no pressure to get it “right” — giving them space to experiment, follow their curiosity and develop creativity and personality in their own ideas. With three years of teaching experience, Shirley works across oil painting, acrylic, charcoal and sketching, with a particular love for portraiture. Her classes are warm, expressive and playful: if a child wants the clouds to be green, the clouds can absolutely be green.
